Silky Sifaka’s are beautiful pure-white lemurs, they are one of the most endangered species on the planet – there may be as few as 200 left in the wild, and they do not survive in captivity. Shy, sensitive, and rarely seen, they inhabit the most remote and rugged of Madagascar’s forests.
Madagascan rosewood is one of the worlds most prized tonewoods – those woods whose superlative characteristics make them highly desirable for the construction of guitars and other stringed instruments.
So what connects some of the most prized musical instruments currently being made with one of the rarest animals on earth?
