Home from Alaska
June 29th, 2012
Finally home from the Great Alaskan Road Trip. It felt like (and was) a pretty long shoot, just under five weeks. All in all it was good, we got some great filming done although is was tough going for the most part, not least due to the fact that it’s difficult to know exactly when […] Read more »
Road trippin’ …
May 23rd, 2012
I got back from Hawaii 10 days ago, it was a really good trip, lots of variety and a huge amount fitted into a few filming days. The first three days were in the studio with the fantastic Steve Montgomery filming a couple of types of carnivorous caterpillars (one of which he discovered). It was […] Read more »
Surf’s up …
May 2nd, 2012
I’m off to Hawaii for 10 days, working for Parthenon Entertainment. This is for the same series of films that the 2hr Alaska film I’ve been busy filming is for. It’s a fairly packed schedule that includes Monk Seals, volcanic scenery and carnivorous caterpillars. The latter sound fantastic; one species that has evolved to ‘slingshot’ […] Read more »

The Tennant clan; 1977 – 2012
March 13th, 2012
We had a fantastic family get together in Harrogate at the weekend to celebrate the 70th birthdays of Auntie Connie and Uncle Mike – a surprise party organised with enviable precision by cousins Laura and Dan (thank you!). It was a great opportunity to re-create a photograph of all the Tennant cousins (my mother’s side […] Read more »
Wolves win again
March 9th, 2012
So, I still have unfinished business with the wolf packs of Anchorage, five years ago we put a huge amount of effort spread over a year to get one shot of a wolf, and this time it was a complete no show, but not for want of trying … We had a pretty amazing set […] Read more »
Ants vs Killer Whales
February 17th, 2012
With the inevitability of that seal being washed off the ice floe to be gobbled up by a marauding pod of killer whales, the Frozen Planet camera team bagged the Best Photography prize at the Royal Television Society awards last night – somewhat predictable, but I think I would have had a heart attack if it […] Read more »
